Photo Stroll and Lens Test covid-19: day 301 | US: GA | info | act

Giles and I returned to Rose Hill today to test a few of my latest lens acquisitions. I brought along an assortment, but used the Jupiter-8 2/50, the Zuiko 2.8/28, the Ultron 1.8/21, and the Takumar 1.8/55. I started with the Jupiter-8, as it was on the SL when I arrived. I let Giles choose his own, and I think he started with the Takumar.

Lovely colors, interesting bokeh, and a bit of low contrast. The Jupiter-8 is a nice vintage lens. Next, the Zuiko captured a few familiar images.

I also used the Zuiko to get a shot of Giles as we chatted. About it he said: it’s “the rare portrait that I don't hate.” Later, I tried to get a shot of him in action, but I was not quick enough.

Next to Giles is a shot with the next lens: the Ultron. This is one of the first lenses I bought, but least used. I’m not sure why, because it’s excellent. And wide.

Finally, some shots from my favorite performer of the day, the Takumar 55. This is a sweet lens: fast and crisp, with great color and stunning bokeh.

And I’ll close this post with a final image from the Tak. In all, a fun and rewarding stroll. I predict many more in the future.
