Happy birthday to Max! While we celebrated his birthday last Sunday with friends and family, today is his official birthday. This kid has really grown, and he’s developing quite the personality. He has many words he uses regularly, and he loves to repeat words he hears. “Cahr” has to be his favorite, and I’m OK with that. A few others he uses regularly: “cracker,” “train,” “wa-wa,” “bowl,” and “couch” (when he’s ready for some quality Mom time. These words all reflect his favorite things. He’ll often walk around with a Matchbox car in each hand.

He loves to eat and wants what you have. Like a lunchroom bully in middle school, he’ll point at what’s on my plate, touching it if he can, looking at me like “are you gonna eat that?” His favorite foods are beans, avocado, French fries, “nannies,” and anything sweet.

He’s doing great at Montessori; like an excited puppy, he usually can’t wait to get into the classroom in the morning. He’s started bringing me books to read to him regularly. His favorites are Red Truck and Train! He also loves to watch Bluey and will often hang out with me for Mystery Science Theater 3000—especially for the theme song, singing “la, la, la” right along with the characters. He usually snuggles right in next to me—one of the best parts of my day. However, that doesn’t usually last too long, as he’s a busy guy.

He is generally a happy kid, though he has his tantrums, but these are usually when he’s hungry or tired—like his dad. He’s gregarious and a bit of a ham. He’ll blame “brah-ber” for certain things and always show you where he just hurt his foot. He loves to laugh, and I can usually get him to crack up with Dad tickles. Sometimes he’ll lay his head on my shoulder when I’m holding him, and he’ll usually greet me in the morning with a big hug, saying “dah-dy.”

I’m proud of both of my guys, and Max is certainly part of the family. While sometimes he’s trying, I can’t image life without our little Moo-Moo. Happy second birthday, Max. I love you, big boy.
