I woke up this morning with a sore throat. I feel it was inevitable, since Autumn’s been coughing and Max always has some new funk from daycare, this time manifesting as sticky gunk in his eyes. Hopefully, I’ll be OK. Also, Hurricane Beryl is heading toward Texas, but I should be able to keep ahead of it by leaving in the morning as planned. I hope to get as close to Meridian, MS, as I can.

I’m going to chillax the rest of the day and do a bit of packing and catch up on ''The Boys''. Austin’s been good, and I collected a lot of research. I want to thank the Harry Ransom Center for the opportunity, including the fellowship coordinator Danica Obradovic for all that she did for me. The experience was all positive, and I hope to get a book out, or at least several articles, out of what I did here.

Wrap Up

I dropped the family at the airport, returned the rental car, and was back at the university by noon. I had the Über driver drop me at the Ransom Center so I could get a bit more exercise and dinner from Jewboy Cantina one last time. In fact, I mentioned to V, the employee that always takes care of me, that today was my last in Austin, and she gave me my meal for free. Super cool. I was back to the cottage before the family’s plane took off.

I want to thank the Harry Ransom Center for the opportunity, including the fellowship coordinator Danica Obradovic for all that she did for me. The experience was all positive, and I hope to get a book out, or at least several articles, from what I did here.

Now, to get into the traveling mindset. I’m looking forward to getting home.
