Ends . . . and New Beginnings? covid-19: day 48 | US: GA | info | act
I’m thinking about going it. I found this beautiful 2016 BMW R 1200 GS for sale in Marietta, and I’m thinking about trading the Scrambler. Yes, it would be more expensive—probably about $70 or so a month—but that might be a small price to pay for such a huge upgrade. The BMW is much more bike, and it will allow me to go back to the type of riding I really want to do: touring. It’s even red, like Neil’s was.
Spring classes officially ended yesterday. My three classes have exams to complete, and tow of them have to finish their Wikipedia projects. Predictably, most are scrambling to finish their WP articles, even though I have been emphasizing continuous development throughout the semester. This pandemic didn’t help, I’m sure, but I think most students just have an issue of actually getting started. They are very timid, not wanting to step on anyone’s toes: I got an email just this morning for a student concerned with deleting another’s work that “doesn’t belong” in the article. There’s a lot of hand-holding with WP. And we’re all tired.
I met with all the groups developing articles over the last two days, and it just seemed to turn into me admonishing them. I intended to encourage. And now they all have exams to take, which will delay them even more in completing their projects. Perhaps I need to be much more lenient this semester than usual. Probably.
