I had an eye exam today. Apparently I have a “freckle” on my left cornea. “Nothing to worry about,” the doctor assured me. “You know how you have freckles on your iris? It’s similar. . . . Nothing to worry about, though we should keep an eye on it. . . . Has anyone ever talked to you about it? No? . . . Well, nothing to worry about. . . . I just want to dilate your eyes, to see if I can see any more. . . .”

Yeah, nothing to worry about. Apparently, this is the only one, and my eyes have actually improved. Go figure. I will finally have a new pair of glasses next week—first time in a couple of years. They are what I have always wanted, too.

Oh, and I have my annual check-up next week. Joy.

Henry handed me his new drawing when he got in the car today: “It’s part of the Enterprise from Star Trek season 0.” I think I might have a new Trekkie in the family. “I made it red and black because I know you like those colors.” Indeed I do.
